Stand-Up
The American Way is the Best
Way

Veteran’s Recall

I’m often asked, “What brought
you to this point?” Of course, the question is often presented in various forms
depending of the person. Some folks are direct while others meander a bit. Yet,
they are all pushing at the same question, “Why are you doing this?” The answer
is not complicated.
I came to a point where enough
became too much. I couldn’t watch, read, or listen to the public discourse, or
the dominate culture, without wanted to throw something, pull out what’s left
of my hair, drag some one behind my shed for “a talking to,” or install
(perhaps for the first time) a backbone into somebody. Perhaps you’ve had a
day, week, month, or year like this?
I came to a point where doing a
“marginal something” was better than doing an “outstanding nothing.” As a
result, a corner was turned, and Veteran’s
Recall began. I believe it’s time to challenge the status quo of modern
public discourse and the dominate culture. I believe it’s time to abolish the
“collective way” and champion the “individual way.” It’s time fully internalize
the American way without excuse or apology.
I came to a point where honor
demanded a response. To my mind, dishonorable conduct has no place in American
leadership at any level. It became clear to me that what was wrong could not be
put right through accountability, transparency, oversight hearings, or more
rules. American honor was needed. And, if our leaders could not find it on
their own, then I was going to present it to them whether they wanted it or not.
Perhaps you feel the same?
The solution is simple, but the
path is hard. The solution is to forge an American future, tempered by faith
and honor, where individual liberty holds the default position over collective
suppression. The path is a personal embodiment of the belief that the American
way, defined by faith, honor, and personal responsibility, is the best way
without exception.
