Think, Speak & Repeat

By Sam Frescoe, Veteran’s Recall

“Always take the time to think before you speak.” I remember this being retold over and over while growing up, and throughout my professional careers to date. Based on my military experience, I am willing to take this idiom a step further. “In times of stress, even under the worst conditions, never stop thinking.” Over time, this idea of “speak occasionally, think always” has served me well.
"Invest a few moments in thinking. It will pay good interest." - Author Unknown
"Time given to thought is the greatest time saver of all." - Norman Cousins
"Think for yourselves and let others enjoy the privilege to do so, too" - Voltaire
"Reason obeys itself: ignorance submits to what is dictated to it." - Thomas Paine
Do not silence the respectfully given opinion, yours or theirs, for the sake of political correctness. This is the foundation necessary for realizing a future that is strong enough for all Americans and those striving to realize their dreams. This is the cornerstone of an American discourse.
Going Forward
Never forcibly silence another for holding an opinion different than your own.
Never allow someone to forcibly silence you for an opinion different than theirs.
