America Needs Battle Tested Veterans

What type of American does America need? Whom shall be entrusted with the future of our nation? Who has what it takes? For me the answer is as clear today as it was each new day in the AOR. America’s battle tested veterans.

 

America’s battle tested veterans, like no other Americans can, fully acknowledge their personal responsibility for their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We know down to the marrow in our bones that the title, American, is earned by those that value unity, justice, stewardship, charity, liberty, opportunity, self-reliance, morality, doing what is good, “We the People”, and the American Way.

I believe this generation has an ample supply of battle tested veterans. But, what about the next generation? They won’t train themselves. They must be taught, corrected, uplifted, and carefully crafted. I say now is as good a time as any before to pull out a chapter from our days in the service and start training up our replacements.

I am calling all veterans to begin training up those willing to follow. I challenge you to train them up in the way they are to go. I challenge you to train and retrain until the next generation can get it right the first time, every time.

We must always remember that as America’s battle tested veterans we are uniquely qualified to understand what it takes to be an American. We have paid our debt of honor in full. Perhaps many times over. It’s now up to us to make sure future generations know that they have a debt of honor to pay as well.
