Syrian Refugees – Don’t Invite Know Problems

By Sam Frescoe, Veteran’s Recall

You read it here, folks. It’s the future!
Prediction-1 – After the election we will not be hearing about Syrian refugees in the USA. Instead, the narrative will start talking about the Syrian immigrants that have built lives here in America. Then, under the cover of darkness (or with an amendment to an obscure bill) they will get a legal status and the right to vote.
This idea is about what is best to secure power. It’s not about what is best for the United States and the American way of life. Follow the votes. Do you really believe progressives will pass on an opportunity to get 100,000 new (government dependent) voters?
Prediction-2 – If you allow Syrian refugees in the United States, then you are facilitating a future terrorist attack on American soil. Future terrorist aggressors in the United States, whether successful or not, will be connected to the acceptance of Syrians.
Think about it. First, what do all Syrian nationals know? War. Second, is there a trustworthy government capable of providing acceptable information about Syrian travelers?
Wake up!
An American’s life is sacred. – No one may kill, or put at life-threatening risk, another without cause (e.g. war, self-defense, defense of bystanders, or defense of property). This moral right can easily be expanded to include all of man-kind.
Politicians say the United States should accept Syrian refugees. Law enforcement experts say that there is no way to screen actual or possible hostile actors originating from Syria, much less track them while they are in the United States. As I consider all of this, I have questions for our political leaders.
Are Americans expected to believe that because you are a politician, and are familiar with the Syrian war and the limitations of law enforcement, all Syrian refugees pose little to no threat to Americans in the United States?
Are Americans supposed to believe that the large numbers of unaccompanied and single Syrian males, 20-45 years of age, are traveling with family? – Are Americans expected to not consider that since Beirut (1983) the most common terrorist aggressor acting against Americans has been an adult male, 20-45 years of age, and a descendent from a state or territory within the former Ottoman Empire?
Are Americans expected to assume that the United States has an obligation to intake refugees of any kind?
Why are Syrians being allowed to depart their region of the world if they are expected to return to their home nation when the war ends? – Have you noticed the double standard? On one hand, citizens are being told that the Syrian refugees will return to Syria when the war ends. On the other hand, Syrian refugees are being told to travel to other nations on other continents and resettle.
Just how stupid do you want us to be?
Going Forward
While deployed, even before a deployment, I followed a simple rule: Don’t invite known or suspected problems. Why? Because you never have enough time to deal with problem people.
I say the solution is to address the current security screening shortfalls prior to accepting additional Syrians. If this approach is adopted, then there is a win for every side. I am not saying that the United States should never accept Syrian refugees, immigrants, and other travelers.  I am saying that the United States is not ready to accept Syrian refugees, immigrants, and other travelers.
